Mobile gaming is larger than pc and consoling gaming combined. This market is so profitable as it targets  a larger market audience which are the day to day people. Unlike pc gaming which targets a smaller audience, as owning high end pc is less common compared to owning a standard phone which most people own in this day and age.

Mobile gaming contribution to the overall gaming industry was 57% out of a $174bn gaming market. The other 43% being the console and pc market. Which both have smaller target audiences as they aim to gamers unlike mobile gaming where people already have the phone to access the video games, this makes it that companies have more potential customers in mobile gaming industry compared to pc/console gaming industry.

Mobile gaming in 2021 had over 2,659billion users all over the world , which is a huge amount of potential customers to your mobile gaming business. Over 1,293billion users where from Asia , this is a huge target audience that causes some video games to favour  appealing to an Asian market compared to the rest of the world. This could be achieved by adding Asian themed events such as Chinese new year events which are prominent in video games, this tactic is used to lure potential sponsors to the gaming companies themselves.

The programming language that is mostly used for programming mobile games is Java.

There are many different types of mobile games genres which range from; 

• Action games 
• Adventure games
• Battle Royale games
• Casual games
• Role-Playing  games
• Multiplayer Online Battle Arena games
• Racing games
• Strategy games
• Sports games
• Card games

There being so many different genres make it so that no matter what your taste is there is a chance that a mobile game will interest you. Mobile games are normally a lot easier to create compared to pc and console games. Which means that a company can create a multitude of games and see which genre is popular , so they can continue making games in the specified genre.

The most used software's to create mobile games are Unreal Engine and Unity.

Unity is used due to the fact that its easy to use and beginner friendly which makes it easier for indie companies to use to create their video games. The main reason why people use Unreal Engine is due to the fact that there is no programming skills required as the software relies on pre established assets which people create. One of the more known Unreal Engine games is Fortnite which created a huge impact on the gaming industry.

This industry has many companies dominating the market to list a few ; Activison , Blizzard , Tencent , Sony and many more. These companies are responsible for many of the classics in the mobile gaming industry. Activision/Blizzard are responsible for Candy Crush , which is the most known mobile game in the industry. Tencent is known for Arena of Valor and PUBG's mobile port. Sony is known for  its spider man mobile port which is a classic that brings many players to it.

There are also many downsides of Mobile Games such as being  overshadowed by Companies who own the market. Its harder for new developers to stand out as people are  more likely to play games from companies that people know. Furthermore another downside is that its easy to miss your target audience or if your target audience is too small or similar to a different company and your game is similar but worse than that companies game, will cause you not to get any recognition.
