Around 30% of those participants purchased loot boxes to gain an advantage over other users(Murray,2019).Another problem with microtransactions is that with premium currencies you can purchase them in bundles, which where the more you spend the more of the premium currency you get(Chernyak,2014).This has  psychological effects on the user that if they want to spend their money to get the smallest amount on currency , you will will be missing out on the discount on the larger bundle.


The mobile games being free to play allows companies to gain their monetization through the usage of ads. However its used as another predatory monetization scheme in mobile video games is the usage of fake ads which are falsely advertised.(Halliday,2022) Furthermore the fake ads most of the time use other peoples content without permission which is fraud. These ads normally use intricate animations which is normally not present in the game itself, most of the time the games contain little to no animations and use generic story telling or game progression(Halliday,2022).The consumers for the fake ads are gullible children, which download the fake games(Martinez,2017). The companies profit from these fraudulent ads due to the ad revenue inside the games. This tactic is predatory towards minors as it is taking advantage of their trust in the ads and then exploit them with fake gameplay.
